You can become pregnant again every month. For the benefit of your future baby is it very important that you are in the best health possible during your entire pregnancy. This is why we recommend you pay attention to your lifestyle from the moment you decide you want to have a baby. We therefore strongly advise that even before you conceive, to stop smoking and/or consuming alcohol and avoid the use of drugs.

Folic Acid

Take folic acid as soon as you start trying to conceive.  Extra folic acid (vitamin B11) at the beginning of your pregnancy will decrease the chance that babies will be born with birth defects, such as spina bifida, congenital heart defects and/or schisis (cleft lip or palate).  It is recommended to start doing this at least 4 weeks before your planned pregnancy. Continue to take folic acid until the tenth week of pregnancy.
